Printmaking has been an important aspect of my work since I was an undergraduate studying for my degree in Textiles and Fashion at Winchester School of Art. I was able to use the printmaking department and discovered monoprinting. I used this technique to create a body of work which I then translated into woven fabric and rugs.
I loved the immediacy of the technique and over the last four years I have had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of various printmaking techniques such as monoprinting, monotype, photopolymer etch, linocut, collagraph, screen printing, and drypoint.
I like using textures, creating different surfaces and using different mediums to create artwork.
My inspiration comes from all aspects of nature and the environment, quite often my surroundings in rural Hampshire, but often landscapes and seascapes that I see whilst walking in different parts of the UK and abroad.
