These three collections were designed and developed to be printed digitally and sold through my website, www.janetwaudby.com
It meant that customers could order small or large quantities and bespoke colour ways and bespoke designs could be commissioned by clients.
This collection was inspired by the play of light through the leaves of trees on one of my many walks near my home in Hampshire.
Initially I sketched different leaves from a variety of trees and scanned them so that I could develop them into designs using Photoshop that could then be printed onto fabric.
I love drawing and designing by hand, but I also love the versatility of working on a computer.
The designs were available on linen/cotton and voile and were suitable for curtains, accessories and light upholstery.
This was designed for a specific purpose – to decorate the interior of a surfing friend’s VW Camper van. From a classic piece of well known imagery, Indianan has become in essence a youthful design, coloured in a contemporary way to give it a surfing look without compromising its timeless quality.
This design was available in two repeat sizes and printed on linen/cotton and was suitable for curtains, accessories and light upholstery.
The Sycamore collection was going to be the third digitally printed collection which was designed to follow on from ‘Etherea’ and ‘Indianna’. It was designed to be an updated traditional chintz collection and was designed for one client and was not launched commercially.
